What is network difficulty
Сложность (difficulty) — встроенный параметр Bitcoin, регулирующий, насколько трудно майнерам найти новый блок. Пересчитывается автоматически каждые 2016 блоков (примерно раз в две недели), чтобы среднее время нахождения блока оставалось около 10 минут. Если за предыдущий период блоки находились быстрее — сложность растёт, медленнее — падает. Рост сложности на 5% означает, что при том же хешрейте майнер получает примерно на 5% меньше BTC в день. Именно поэтому ROI-расчёты без учёта роста сложности дают оптимистичный результат.

What is Bitcoin network difficulty?
Difficulty is a parameter that controls how hard it is to find a new block. It recalculates every 2016 blocks (~2 weeks) to keep average block time at 10 minutes.
Why does difficulty adjust?
If blocks were found faster than 10 minutes — difficulty rises; slower — it drops. This is Bitcoin's built-in mechanism to stabilize coin issuance.
What does a 5% difficulty increase mean for a miner?
A 5% difficulty increase means you receive roughly 5% less BTC per day at the same hashrate (all else equal). This reduces income unless BTC price compensates.
