Webshare review 2026: proxy types, prices, free plan, rules, who it fits

Webshare makes sense if you need cheap datacenter proxies for scraping, SEO checks or price monitoring and you pay by card: 100 shared proxies cost $2.99 a month, and 10 proxies are free with no card. Crypto users get a worse deal. You can't pay in crypto or with PayPal, and multi-accounting on exchanges sits in a gray area of the rules.

POOL BTC is an independent comparison site. We are not Webshare, not a proxy provider and not a mining pool, and nothing here is investment advice. Facts come from Webshare's official pages and its public Trustpilot profile, checked 2026-10-09. Where the official site says nothing, we say so.

What is Webshare?

Webshare is a US-based proxy provider run by Webshare Software, Company. It sells shared, private and dedicated datacenter proxies, rotating residential proxies paid per GB, and static residential (ISP) proxies. The free plan is permanent and gives you 10 proxies without a card. Everything works over HTTP and SOCKS5.

The company's legal documents point to the US: a mandatory arbitration clause under US law and separate privacy disclosures for California residents. The official site does not give the state of incorporation or a headquarters address. USPTO trademark filings under the Webshare Software Company name date from May 2021, so the business has been running since at least then.

For setup and automation there is a REST API with token authentication. It covers the proxy list, subscriptions, billing and verification, with limits of 240 requests per minute in general and 60 per minute for the proxy list endpoint.

What proxy types does Webshare sell, and what do they cost?

Webshare has five paid product lines plus a free plan. The cheapest paid option is 100 shared datacenter proxies for $2.99 a month. Rotating residential traffic starts at $3.50 per GB, but that price includes a 50% promotion off $7.00 per GB, and the page doesn't say whether the discount is permanent.

ProductEntry priceWhat you get
Free plan$010 proxies, no card, no expiry, 1 GB per month
Shared datacenter$2.99/month for 100 proxiesIPs shared by several users, unlimited traffic under fair use
Private datacenterfrom $0.43 per proxyeach IP shared by at most 2 users
Dedicated datacenter$26.60/month for 20 proxiesexclusive IPs, from $0.825 per proxy at higher volumes
Rotating residential$3.50/GB at 1 GB (promo, original $7.00/GB)80M+ IPs in 195 countries, paid per GB
Static residential (ISP)$6.00/month for 20 proxies ($0.30 each)ISP addresses, unlimited traffic under fair use

The 1 GB monthly allowance on the free plan comes from a comparison page on webshare.io. The main pricing page lists the free tier but doesn't repeat that figure.

Shared datacenter pricing scales gently. 1,000 proxies cost $26.91 a month, 10,000 cost $224.25, and 100,000 cost $1,794.00, which works out to about $0.018 per proxy. Rotating residential gets cheaper with volume too: $2.75/GB at 10 GB, $2.25/GB at 100 GB, $1.50/GB at 1,000 GB and $1.40/GB at 3,000 GB, all at the current promotional prices. Unused residential GB do not carry over. The allowance resets every month.

Static residential proxies come from ISPs including AT&T, Sprint, Cox Communications, Comcast, RCN and Lumen, at speeds up to 1 Gbps. 1,000 of them cost $270.00 a month. Annual billing is 30% cheaper than monthly and runs on a 360-day cycle.

The word "unlimited" has a ceiling. Under the fair usage policy, last updated August 27, 2026, every unlimited plan guarantees at least 10 TB. On top of that, each $10 of the first $1,000 of plan price buys 1 TB of guaranteed traffic, and each $20 above $1,000 buys another 1 TB. A $1,500 plan gets 125 TB. Past the threshold, speed drops from 300-400 Mbps to 100 Mbps and can fall as low as 10 Kbps.

Concurrency is 500 to 3,000 threads depending on the plan.

Who is Webshare a good fit for, and who should skip it?

Webshare suits people who scrape, track prices or monitor SEO and want to test before paying: the 10 free proxies are enough for a small script. It suits miners and crypto users less well when they want to pay in crypto, need a long refund window or plan to run accounts on exchanges.

Good fit:

  • Scrapers and analysts who need many cheap datacenter IPs. At 10,000 proxies the price is about $0.022 each.
  • SEO specialists checking rankings in different countries. Rotating residential targets by country, city, state, ZIP code and ASN.
  • Developers who want an API and a downloadable proxy list instead of manual setup.
  • Anyone who wants to test for free before paying for a plan.

Poor fit:

  • People who want to pay in crypto or with PayPal. Webshare accepts cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay, and its help page dated April 10, 2026 says it does not plan to add crypto or PayPal.
  • Anyone who needs a refund guarantee. The window is 48 hours, with usage caps, and approval is at Webshare's discretion.
  • Users whose work depends on clean IP reputation. On the cheapest plan the IPs are shared, so what other users do can affect how target sites treat you.

Which countries, KYC checks and rules apply?

The official site, checked 2026-10-09, does not say whether Webshare is available in Russia, the CIS or Latin America. It publishes no country block list. The compliance policy says users may be asked for ID verification, a description of their use case and payment verification. When those checks are triggered is not stated.

ID checks run through Stripe Identity, which asks for a photo ID and facial images. The terms tell users to follow all applicable local, state, national and international laws, but they say nothing about sanctions or specific countries. Since the company is US-based, readers in sanctioned regions should expect friction and check with Webshare before paying.

Webshare's restricted activities page, dated June 3, 2025, bans among other things:

  1. Mass account creation on sensitive sites such as betting platforms.
  2. Account takeover and credential stuffing.
  3. Carding, fraudulent transactions and payment abuse.
  4. Accessing financial institutions without a valid hostname.
  5. Automated ticket buying and scalping.
  6. Torrenting and sharing pirated content.
  7. Click fraud and fake ad views.
  8. Forum spam and unsolicited email.
  9. Vulnerability scanning or stress testing without written consent, plus DDoS attacks.
  10. Collecting non-public or sensitive data without permission, and reselling the service without written consent.

Permitted uses on the product pages include web scraping, SEO monitoring, ad verification, price tracking, data collection, multi-account management for social media and cybersecurity research.

Crypto work is where it gets unclear. Multi-account management is on the permitted list, but account automation on "sensitive websites" is banned, and Webshare doesn't define whether exchanges count as sensitive. The official site doesn't say whether exchange or airdrop multi-accounting is allowed. Read the rules, ask the compliance team at compliance@webshare.io before you start, and keep in mind that exchanges have their own terms. A proxy doesn't make breaking them acceptable.

How private and secure is Webshare?

The official pages contradict each other on logging. The dedicated proxy page promises "no logs, no tracking", while the privacy policy lists log file data the company collects. The privacy policy does not say whether proxy traffic itself, such as destination addresses, gets logged. No security certifications are listed on the official site.

According to the privacy policy, last updated May 21, 2024, log file data covers IP address, operating system, browser type, browser ID, date and time of visit, and pages visited. That reads like website analytics rather than proxy traffic. Still, a strong "no logs" line on a sales page should carry the same weight in the legal policy, and here it doesn't. Billing and payment data is also collected, and payments go through Stripe.

In practice: don't route anything through any proxy that you wouldn't want a third party to see, and use HTTPS to the target site.

How do you start using Webshare?

Sign up with email or a Google account and the free plan starts right away: 10 proxies, no card. From the dashboard you choose the number of proxies, countries, bandwidth and threads, then download the list or pull it through the API. Connect over HTTP or SOCKS5 with a username and password or an IP whitelist.

  1. Open Webshare and register with email or Google SSO.
  2. The free tier activates immediately with 10 proxies and no card required.
  3. In the dashboard at dashboard.webshare.io, set proxy count, countries, bandwidth and threads.
  4. Download the proxy list as a file, or fetch it through the REST API.
  5. Connect over HTTP or SOCKS5 using username:password or an IP whitelist.
  6. For rotating residential, the code example on the product page uses the endpoint p.webshare.io on port 80. Targeting goes into the username string, for example username-us-city_los_angeles.
  7. Create API keys in the dashboard. Full documentation is at apidocs.webshare.io.

Test on the free plan before buying. Once you pay, the refund conditions are strict.

What are the risks of using Webshare?

The main risks are a short and discretionary refund window, account checks that can come without warning, the reputation of shared IPs, throttling on "unlimited" plans, residential GB that expire monthly, and no crypto payments. Trustpilot reviews repeat several of these, even though the overall score is solid.

Refunds: you have to ask within 48 hours, use less than 1 GB (datacenter and static) or 0.1 GB (rotating residential), and use fewer than 1,000 proxies. The terms say refunds are at Webshare's sole discretion. Account credits can't be refunded, only transferred to another Webshare account. Processing takes 5-10 business days.

Account checks: the compliance team may ask for ID verification, and accounts can be suspended while a review is pending.

Trustpilot, checked 2026-10-09, shows a 4.0 score from 1,453 reviews, 458 of them from the last 12 months. 77% are five stars and 15% are one star, which is a large share of very unhappy customers. The company responded to 96% of negative reviews. Positive reviews mention fast, helpful support. Negative ones mention unstable connections, unexpected restrictions and KYC requests, an awkward dashboard, proxies removed without notice and a cancellation option that's hard to find. Support hours aren't published. The Trustpilot summary says the team usually replies within 48 hours.

How does Webshare compare with Decodo, IPRoyal and Proxy-Seller?

On entry price for rotating residential, Webshare's promotional $3.50/GB matches Proxy-Seller and undercuts Decodo's $3.75/GB and IPRoyal's $7.00/GB. Webshare is the only one of the four with a permanent free plan. Decodo offers a longer refund, IPRoyal's traffic never expires, and Proxy-Seller lists more locations.

FAQ

Is Webshare really free?

Yes, with limits. The free plan gives you 10 proxies permanently, with no card and no expiry date. A comparison page on webshare.io lists 1 GB of traffic per month for it. That's enough to test a script or check a few rankings, not for steady production scraping.

Can I pay Webshare with crypto?

No. Webshare accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, China UnionPay, JCB, Cartes Bancaires, Interac, Google Pay and Apple Pay. Its help page dated April 10, 2026 says the company does not plan to add crypto or PayPal.

Does Webshare work in Russia, the CIS or Latin America?

The official site doesn't say as of 2026-10-09. There is no published country list in either direction. The company is US-based, so if you're in a sanctioned region, ask compliance@webshare.io before you pay.

Can I use Webshare for exchange accounts or airdrops?

The official site doesn't answer this. Multi-account management is listed as a permitted use, but account automation on sensitive websites is banned and exchanges aren't explicitly classified. Read the rules, ask the compliance team, and follow the exchange's own terms.

Does Webshare keep logs?

The dedicated proxy page says "no logs, no tracking". The privacy policy describes collecting log file data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, which looks like website data. Whether proxy traffic is logged isn't stated. Treat the "no logs" claim with caution.

How do I get a refund from Webshare?

Ask within 48 hours of purchase. You must have used less than 1 GB on datacenter or static plans, or 0.1 GB on rotating residential, and fewer than 1,000 proxies. Approval is at Webshare's discretion, account credits aren't refundable, and processing takes 5-10 business days.

Is Webshare worth it in 2026?

For cheap datacenter IPs, scraping and SEO work paid by card, Webshare is a reasonable choice, and the free plan lets you test it at no cost. For crypto payments, a long refund window or exchange multi-accounting, look elsewhere or get written answers from Webshare first.

Start with the free tier on Webshare, run your actual workload for a few days, and pay only once the proxies hold up on the sites you need.
