Magnum VPN review 2026: Telegram bot VPN, price, protocols, risks, who it fits

Magnum VPN is a cheap Telegram-bot VPN that makes sense for a short test by someone in Russia who needs access to blocked sites for about 299 rubles a month. It does not make sense if you need a named operator, a privacy policy or an audit, because none of those are published. Do not route anything sensitive through a service you cannot identify.

POOL BTC is an independent comparison site. We are not Magnum VPN, not a VPN provider and not a mining pool, and nothing here is legal or investment advice. Facts come from the service's own Telegram bot and channel plus independent reviews, checked 2026-10-10. The service has no official website that we could find, so many items say "not stated".

What is Magnum VPN?

Magnum VPN is a VPN sold and managed through a Telegram bot called Magnumvpnbot. You pay and get your configuration inside the bot, and the tunnel itself is raised by a separate client app on your phone or computer. Telegram does not carry the traffic. The project runs a news channel with about 44,100 subscribers and a support bot.

Public trackers showed roughly 69,000 to 70,500 monthly active users of the bot in August and October 2026. The operator, the legal entity and the country are not stated anywhere official. There is no website, so the bot and the channel are the only official sources.

How much does Magnum VPN cost?

The channel posts give 299 rubles a month for the main subscription and a trial of 49 rubles for one week for new users. Those posts are undated, so confirm the current price in the bot. Annual plans and refund terms are not stated. Payment by TON appeared in a June 2026 Telegram ad, and card, Mir and SBP payment are not confirmed in official material.

Channel posts also describe a welcome bonus for people who join through a referral link, 7 trial days and 100 rubles of balance. Bonus terms change, so read them in the bot.

Which protocols does it use?

The channel mentions Shadowsocks, WireGuard and VLESS with Xray, and tells users to switch between them when one is blocked. The service has no app of its own. A whitelist-bypass mode requires the Happ Proxy app, and configs are named "whitelist" and "ultra". The channel advertises the "most secure protocol" without naming it, which does not match its own posts about several protocols.

This matters in Russia. Independent May and June 2026 reviews rate plain WireGuard as blocked by large mobile and home providers and Shadowsocks as unstable, while VLESS with Reality and AmneziaWG survive best. The service itself reported outages and blocking waves in its channel, so expect interruptions.

Is it legal to use a VPN in Russia?

Using one is not explicitly criminalized, but the rules are tightening. Roskomnadzor reported 469 VPN services blocked by February 2026. A ban on VPN advertising took effect on 2026-09-01 with fines up to 80,000 rubles for individuals and 500,000 rubles for companies. A June 2026 amendment bars Russian hosting providers from serving bypass services.

Risk for ordinary users comes mainly from advertising, public instructions for circumvention and access to prohibited content, per commentary we read. Rules change quickly, so check current law and do not rely on this paragraph. For Argentina and Latin America we found no VPN restrictions, and the service does not mention those regions.

Is Magnum VPN safe?

We cannot call it safe, because we cannot verify it. There is no named company, no jurisdiction, no privacy or logging policy, and no independent audit. An independent review published on 2026-05-27 and updated on 2026-08-12 flags the missing logging policy. A VPN operator sees your traffic metadata, so an unknown operator is a real trust problem.

Payment adds a second risk. TON payments cannot be reversed, and no refund policy is published. Telegram has also been throttled in Russia since February 2026, so without an active tunnel you may be unable to open the bot to get a new config. No email or web dashboard fallback exists.

What should you check before paying?

Treat the first payment as a test and use the trial. Check whether the configs connect on your provider, whether the speed holds through the evening, and whether support answers. Never use the VPN for logins you cannot afford to expose, and keep exchange accounts protected with 2FA that does not rely on SMS.

Ask the support bot three questions: who operates the service, whether it keeps connection logs and how long, and what the refund rule is. If it will not answer, that is information. Compare answers with our reviews of Proxy-Seller and Webshare, which publish more about who they are.

How does it compare with alternatives?

Sirius VPN costs about 300 rubles with WireGuard and AmneziaWG, FOLK VPS starts from about 220 rubles with VLESS Reality and a 3-day trial without a card, and Mullvad charges 5 euros a month with audits and a published policy. None of the three Telegram-style services has an audit.

Prices for the alternatives come from independent reviews and one provider blog dated May to September 2026 and need a live check. Mullvad's plain WireGuard is blocked on major Russian providers, so it needs its obfuscation features there. It costs about three and a half times more than Magnum, which buys you transparency rather than speed.

Does a VPN matter for bitcoin miners?

Only for access. A VPN on your laptop can open an exchange or pool dashboard that your provider blocks, but it does nothing for your hashrate. Your ASIC talks to the pool by Stratum straight from the rig, and that traffic does not pass through the VPN client on your phone unless you set it up on the miner's network.

The privacy risk is real for crypto users, though. If an unknown operator logs metadata, it sees which exchanges and pool pages you open. Keep wallet seed phrases away from any online tool, and use a VPN with a known operator for exchange logins when you can. To see what your hardware actually earns, run it through the POOL BTC calculator.

How do you start?

  1. Open Telegram and find the Magnumvpnbot bot, then press Start.
  2. Pick the trial or the monthly plan in the bot menu.
  3. Pay by a method the bot offers and keep the receipt.
  4. Receive the configuration file or subscription link from the bot.
  5. Install a compatible client such as Happ Proxy and import the profile.
  6. Repeat the import on other devices, up to 7 in total.
  7. Switch protocols or configs from the channel guides if one stops working.

If Telegram is blocked on your network, set up the tunnel before you need to renew.

What are the risks?

The main ones are an unknown operator, no logging policy, no audit, irreversible crypto payment and a hard dependency on Telegram. Add an unstable protocol set in a country that actively blocks it, and 18 servers shared by tens of thousands of users with no SLA. A legal risk exists in Russia as the advertising ban and hosting rules take effect.

None of this means the service will fail tomorrow. It means you should pay for a month at a time, not a year, and keep anything valuable off it.

FAQ

Is Magnum VPN free?

No. The channel posts give 49 rubles for a one-week trial and 299 rubles a month for the main plan. Prices can change, so check them in the bot before you pay.

Does Magnum VPN have a website?

We found no official website. The bot, the news channel and a support bot are the only official sources, which also means no published terms or privacy policy.

Which apps work with it?

The service ships no app. Configs import into compatible clients, and the channel names Happ Proxy for its whitelist mode. Plain WireGuard and Shadowsocks clients are implied by the config types.

Is it safe for exchange logins?

We would not rely on it for that. The operator, logging practice and jurisdiction are unknown. Use 2FA and prefer a provider with a published policy and an audit.

Does a VPN change my mining profit?

No. It affects only the device that runs it. The miner connects to the pool directly, so hashrate and payouts do not change.

Can I get a refund?

A refund policy is not stated. With crypto payment there is no chargeback, so pay small amounts first.

If you want to test the service, you can start through the Magnum VPN bot link with the trial plan and check speed, stability and support before paying for more.
