Tuyo Card review 2026: fees, limits, countries, cashback, who it fits
Tuyo Card can work for someone in Latin America, the EU or the US who wants a free virtual Visa card funded with USDC from a self-custodial app, and who spends mostly in dollars. It is a poor fit for Russian residents, for anyone who wants cashback on every purchase, and for anyone who needs a physical card.
POOL BTC is an independent comparison site for bitcoin mining pools and the services miners use. We are not Tuyo, we do not issue cards, and nothing here is investment advice. The figures come from the official Tuyo website, its card page, FAQ, help center and status page, checked on 2026-10-20. Where Tuyo does not state something, we say so instead of guessing.
What did our cards table get wrong about Tuyo?
Two things needed correcting. Our table listed 0% cashback, and a second table showed "up to 11%". Neither is a cashback figure from Tuyo. The official pages show no cashback program at all. The 0% matches the 0% fee on dollar purchases inside the US, and the 11% appears only in a third-party review that describes yield, not card rewards.
- The table also said ATMs are not supported. The official help center says Visa ATM withdrawals work, with a $250 cap per withdrawal.
- The table said "light KYC". Tuyo does not publish KYC tiers or document lists, so we no longer claim it.
- Fees are not "by provider". Tuyo publishes its own numbers, covered below.
What is Tuyo Card?
Tuyo Card is a virtual Visa debit card inside the Tuyo app, which describes itself as a money companion. The app is self-custodial: Tuyo says you control your funds and private keys and that it never takes custody. The card spends from a balance called Cash, which holds USDC on the Base network.
Visa is named as the network, with acceptance at more than 175 million merchants. The card pages never name the issuing bank and refer only to "our card provider". A search snippet of the card page disclaimer mentions a third-party issuing platform, but we could not confirm it on a fetched page, so we do not rely on it. Tuyo also does not state its own legal entity or regulatory status on the pages we could read. The cardholder agreement sits on a separate legal page that we could not read, so its terms are unverified.
The same app offers USD, EUR and MXN bank account details through a partner, and an interest-bearing Cash balance. A physical card is marked "coming soon" with no date.
How much does Tuyo Card cost?
Issuance, monthly and yearly fees are all free. The cost appears when you spend abroad or in another currency. Tuyo lists a 1% fee for spending in a non-USD currency and a 1% fee on purchases outside the US charged by the card provider, with a combined maximum of up to 2%. Dollar purchases inside the US cost 0%.
| Item | What Tuyo states |
|---|---|
| Card issuance | Free |
| Monthly or annual fee | None |
| USD purchases in the US | 0% |
| Non-USD currency spending | 1% FX fee |
| Purchases outside the US | 1% fee from the card provider |
| Maximum combined | Up to 2% |
| Trading volume fee | 0.25%, bridging and stablecoin swaps exempt |
| ATM withdrawal | Up to $250 each, 3 attempts per 24 hours, operator fees apply |
| Cashback | None published |
One conflict is worth knowing. The FAQ mentions only the 1% FX fee for non-USD spending, while the card page and the help center add the second 1% for purchases outside the US. We treat the higher total as the safer planning number.
For a Latin American user paying a local merchant in pesos or reais, both fees can apply at once, so budget up to 2% on local spending. Fees on top-ups are not stated on the official site. The app shows a quote before you confirm, and a "no fees" label on a transfer does not cancel the sending bank's charge or the currency conversion.
Does Tuyo Card pay cashback?
No cashback program appears on any official Tuyo page. The only reward mechanic is "Buy Now, Pay Maybe", where Tuyo may randomly cover some purchases. Tuyo's FAQ says it "might cover" a purchase, the odds are not disclosed and it is at Tuyo's discretion. Treat it as a bonus, not a rate you can plan around.
Separately, the Cash balance shows interest. The homepage says up to 4.0% APY, and a help page screenshot caption says up to 4.5% APY. Both are examples, the help page tells users to rely on the values in the app, and the FAQ warns that rates change, returns can be negative and these strategies are not insured bank deposits.
If steady cashback matters, cards such as Bleap, which advertises category cashback up to 20% with 1% on everything else, or KAST, do the job better. Tuyo competes on simplicity and self-custody instead.
What are the limits?
A new card starts with a daily limit of up to $50,000 per official pages. After $50,000 in total purchases the limit can rise to $100,000, and after $100,000 in total purchases to $200,000. You must make at least one purchase before you can change the limit.
One search snippet of the card page showed $10,000 per day, which we could not reproduce on the fetched page. We rely on the three official pages that agree on $50,000.
For ATMs, set a PIN first in the card settings, then choose "Credit" at the machine. The cap is $250 per withdrawal including the ATM surcharge, with up to three attempts per rolling 24 hours whether approved or declined. Tuyo does not control ATM operator fees or FX markups, and it gives no country list for ATMs.
Who is Tuyo Card for, and who should skip it?
It fits people who already hold or are happy to hold USDC, want a free virtual card without a custodial exchange in the middle, and spend mainly in dollars. It also fits someone who wants USD, EUR or MXN bank details in the same app and is comfortable with an early-stage product.
It does not fit these readers:
- Russian residents, because Russia is on the platform-wide prohibited list.
- Anyone who needs a physical card today.
- Users who want guaranteed cashback or a long record of operating history.
- Anyone who wants to spend from a balance in tokens other than USDC on Base, because the card spends only from Cash.
Is Tuyo Card available in your country?
Tuyo has no published list of supported countries. It publishes a prohibited list instead. Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru are not on it, and approval there depends on identity verification and the card provider's review. Russia, Belarus and Ukraine are on the platform-wide prohibited list, so Russian residents should not count on the card.
The full platform-wide list also covers Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Cuba, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, North Korea, Syria, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Venezuela, Vietnam and Yemen, among others. Card issuance is also unavailable in Israel, and 19 US states and 6 territories are excluded from card issuance. Card spending is restricted in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Ukraine and Venezuela.
Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia and Uzbekistan are not on the prohibited list, so they are generally available, but nothing on the official site confirms them explicitly. The availability pages were last verified by Tuyo in July 2026, so check the help center before you apply. For Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Peru, local top-up rails such as Pix are not stated on the official site. The only local rail we found is SPEI for Mexico, so users elsewhere will probably fund the card with crypto or a card payment.
How safe is your money in Tuyo?
The app is self-custodial, so the funds in Cash are tied to your wallet keys, not to a company balance. That removes the exchange custody risk, but it does not remove the risk of losing your keys or phone, of smart contract failures in the interest feature, or of card provider decisions. Tuyo does not publish audits or a security record on the pages we read.
The status page showed all services operational with 100% uptime over 30, 60 and 90 days at the time of our check. We did not read the incident history, so we found no official incident record. Interest products are not deposits and are not insured. Keep only the amount you plan to spend on the card, and keep the rest in cold storage. For a custodial alternative, see our review of the EMCD Card.
How do you get Tuyo Card?
The official pages describe the path in outline. The detailed verification flow and the document list are not published, so the app shows them at sign-up.
- Install the app through the official download page, using the QR code or the App Store or Google Play link.
- Complete identity verification and apply for the card inside the app.
- Fund the Cash balance with USDC on Base, or with a bank transfer or Apple Pay or Google Pay where available.
- Add the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay. Both are supported, though Apple or Google may refuse a card on their own risk checks.
- Set a PIN if you plan to use ATMs.
If you want to try it, open Tuyo through our referral link, check the live quote for your first top-up and start with a small amount.
What are the risks of Tuyo Card?
- Only USDC on Base is spendable. Tokens sent on other networks will not appear as Cash, so send a small test transfer first.
- Since the vault-to-Cash update, balances in the Investments section are not spendable on the card until you move them to Cash.
- Costs can reach 2% on foreign or non-USD spending.
- The card is virtual only, with no physical card yet.
- The reward feature is discretionary and drew public criticism on social media in 2026.
- There is no deposit insurance, and the issuer and the company's regulatory status are not clearly stated on the official pages we read.
- Our own site data on cashback, ATM and KYC conflicted with the official pages, which shows how fast these details change. Recheck before you load a large sum.
How does Tuyo Card compare with Bleap and Gnosis Pay?
| Tuyo Card | Bleap | Gnosis Pay | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Network | Visa | Mastercard | Visa |
| Custody | Self-custodial | MPC self-custody | Self-custody via smart account |
| Issuance fee | Free | Free | Not stated on the main site |
| FX or foreign fee | 1% FX, 1% abroad, up to 2% | No FX fee on non-EUR transactions | Not stated on the main site |
| Cashback | None published | Up to 20% by category, 1% base | Not stated on the main site |
| ATM | Up to $250 per withdrawal | Free up to 400 EUR per month | Not stated on the main site |
| Latin America | Not on prohibited list, no supported list | Mexico and Brazil, more coming | Partner rails for Pix and ARS |
We did not get verified numbers for a third alternative, Deblock, because its official card page was unavailable when we checked. Bleap's own page names a European licensed entity and Gnosis Pay says its card is issued by a regulated partner under a Visa Europe licence. Tuyo names neither an issuer nor a licence on the pages we read, which is the main transparency gap in this comparison.

FAQ
Does Tuyo Card work in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico?
Argentina, Brazil and Mexico are not on the prohibited list, so applications are possible, and approval depends on identity verification and the card provider's review. Tuyo has no published list of supported countries, so check the help center and the app before you load funds.
Can Russian residents use Tuyo Card?
No. Russia is on the platform-wide prohibited list, and both card issuance and card spending in Russia are restricted. Belarus and Ukraine are also on the list.
Does Tuyo Card have cashback?
No cashback program appears on the official pages. The only perk is a random "Buy Now, Pay Maybe" feature at Tuyo's discretion, plus an interest-bearing Cash balance that is not a card reward.
Is there a physical Tuyo card?
Not yet. The official FAQ and card page mark the physical card as coming soon with no date. Today the card is virtual, and you add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Does Tuyo Card charge foreign exchange fees?
Yes. Tuyo states 1% for spending in a non-USD currency and 1% for purchases outside the US, up to 2% combined. Dollar purchases inside the US cost 0%.
Is Tuyo custodial?
Tuyo says it is self-custodial and never takes custody of your funds or keys. Fiat bank services run through regulated partners, and the card provider is not named on the pages we read.
Is Tuyo Card worth it in 2026?
For a dollar-based, self-custody user in a supported country, a free virtual Visa card with 0% on US dollar purchases is a fair deal, and the app is simple. It is weaker on cashback, transparency about the issuer and top-up options in Latin America, and it is closed to Russia. Start small, test with a small payment and compare it with our Binance Card review if you prefer a custodial option.
