Neopool review 2026: fees, FPPS, payouts, security incident, risks, who it fits
Is Neopool worth it right now? No. After a security incident on 2026-07-29, the pool itself told users to move their full hashrate to another pool until the investigation is finished. By 2026-10-11 we found no notice that the domain had been recovered or that service had resumed, and its public stats look frozen.
POOL BTC is an independent comparison site. We are not Neopool, we do not run a mining pool, and nothing here is investment advice. The facts below come from the official Neopool site, the company statement about the incident, the mempool.space API and public reporting, all checked on 2026-10-11. Where something comes only from a third party, we say so.
What is Neopool?
Neopool is a Bitcoin mining pool that accepts only BTC on the SHA-256d algorithm and pays on FPPS. It launched in 2025 after a beta period. According to CB Insights and Dealroom, the company is registered in Victoria, Seychelles, and was founded in 2023. Its CEO is Andrei Kapeikin.
One third-party review places the company in Dubai instead, which conflicts with the Seychelles registration. We could not settle this, because the official site has no About page: the link returns a 404 error, and so do the FAQ, documentation and connection pages.
On 2025-12-22, Bitcoin Magazine reported that Interhash acquired a controlling stake in Neopool. Interhash is a Minsk company founded in 2018 and led by CEO Alexander Lozben. The terms were not disclosed.
The pool's early history is thin. A Bitcointalk thread opened on 2025-08-29 by a new account presented the pool with PPLNS payouts at the time. The live site later switched to FPPS. Replies in that thread were skeptical, and one user pointed out that the site was hosted on Yandex.ru. A Russian mirror, neopool.ru, also exists. In November 2025 Forklog reported a record payout of 169 BTC. That is a single source and we could not verify it.
What happened to Neopool in July 2026?
On 2026-07-29 attackers took control of the corporate domain neopool.com, its @neopool.com email and what the company calls critical infrastructure facilities. A statement published on 2026-08-07 asked users to move their full hashrate to another pool until the investigation ends. We found no later update.
The timeline, as far as public sources go:
- 2026-07-29. Attackers gain access to and control of neopool.com, the @neopool.com email and critical infrastructure facilities, per the company statement. Web search summaries say the pool's X account described the first day's events as a planned upgrade and server migration. We could not open the original post, so treat that wording as unverified.
- 2026-08-07. TechBullion and CryptoOneClick publish the company statement. It says law enforcement is involved and user funds remain secure. Communications move to the Telegram account @neopool_support. Any message from an @neopool.com address should be treated as untrusted until recovery. The key line: "Until the incident is fully investigated, Neopool strongly recommends users transfer their full hashrate to an alternative mining pool."
- August to October 2026. We found no confirmation that the domain was recovered or that the pool resumed normal service. The original Telegram and X posts could not be fetched.
The claim that user funds are secure comes from the company and cannot be checked from outside. The practical point is simpler: the operator asked miners to leave, and there is no public sign it has withdrawn that advice.
What are Neopool's fees and payout scheme?
The official site states FPPS and a minimum payout of 0.001 BTC, but it does not publish a fee. It only mentions personalized commission rates. A third-party review gives about 1.5-1.8% depending on volume, with VIP rates from 1 PH/s. That figure is not confirmed by the pool.
| Item | Neopool | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Coin and algorithm | BTC, SHA-256d | Official site |
| Payout scheme | FPPS | Official site |
| Minimum payout | 0.001 BTC | Official site |
| Fee | Personalized, exact rate not disclosed | Official site |
| Fee estimate | About 1.5-1.8% by volume | Third party, unconfirmed |
| VIP rates | From 1 PH/s | Third party, unconfirmed |
| Stats and data export | Real-time stats, API and data export mentioned | Official site |
| Support | 24/7 claimed | Official site |
There is a mismatch worth noting. The site uses "no hidden fees" wording, yet the actual rate is not shown anywhere public. A fee you can only learn after talking to the pool is hard to compare. Payout frequency is not stated on the official site (checked 2026-10-11).
Can Neopool's hashrate be verified?
No. On 2026-10-11 both neopool.com and neopool.ru showed the same 20.19 EH/s and the same last block, 859300. According to the mempool.space API, that block was mined on 2024-09-01, about 106,000 blocks before the current chain tip. The numbers look frozen, not live.
Details from the check:
- Last block. Block 859300 dates from 2024-09-01, per the mempool.space API. The chain tip on 2026-10-11 was 965,404, so the site's "last block" is roughly two years old.
- Difficulty. The site shows 132.72T. mempool.space put network difficulty at about 125.81T in August 2026. The displayed figure does not match the chain.
- No incident notice. Neither site carries a banner about the July incident. We did not test the login.
- No pool tag. Neopool does not appear in the mempool.space rankings for 1 week, 1 month, 3 months or 6 months. Its database has no Neopool tag at all.
Could the blocks hide under "Unknown"? The numbers say no. mempool.space counts 14 unknown blocks in one week (1.40%), 48 in one month, 66 in three months and 140 in six months. By the pool's own figure of 20 EH/s, it would find about 130 blocks a month, almost three times all the unknown blocks for that month.
There are several possible explanations: the tracker does not recognize the pool's tag, the pool is inactive, or its hashrate is routed through another pool under a proxy arrangement. We do not know which is true. What we can say is that the public stats cannot be matched to blocks on the chain.
Who is Neopool for, and who should skip it?
Right now Neopool fits nobody as a place to point active hashrate. The operator itself advised moving away, and no recovery has been announced. The only reasonable use is to watch the official Telegram channel and wait for an update you can verify.
Watching may make sense if you:
- had hashrate or a balance on the pool before July 2026 and need to follow the recovery;
- are tracking pools under Interhash ownership for business reasons.
Skip it for now if you:
- want to connect new machines today;
- need a published fee and a hashrate share you can check on the chain.
Which countries can use Neopool?
The official site lists no country restrictions (checked 2026-10-11). Nothing is stated about Latin America or Argentina. For Russia, a dedicated ru server and the neopool.ru mirror exist, and no restriction is mentioned. A third-party review says the pool has no KYC, which the official site does not confirm.
Access is a secondary question for now: whatever the country, the operator's own advice since August 2026 is to mine elsewhere.
How safe is Neopool?
Not safe enough to use until there is a public recovery notice. The company said attackers controlled its domain, email and critical infrastructure. It also said user funds remain secure, but that cannot be verified independently. Two-factor login via Google Authenticator is mentioned only by a third-party review.
A few things follow from the statement itself:
- Email. The company said messages from @neopool.com addresses are untrusted until recovery. Do not follow links or payout instructions sent from them.
- Domain. The company said attackers controlled it. Until recovery is confirmed, sending hashrate to any address under neopool.com is a risk you cannot measure.
- Official channel. The statement named Telegram @neopool_support as the communication channel. Check that the handle matches it exactly before trusting a message.
- Records. Pools usually hold earnings until the payout threshold is reached. If you had a balance on Neopool, keep records of your account, worker names and last payouts.
How do you connect to Neopool?
We cannot give connection steps. The official connection, FAQ and documentation pages return 404. A third-party review lists stratum+tcp servers for ru, eu and us regions on port 3333 under the neopool.com domain. These are unconfirmed, and the pool itself advised against sending hashrate there for now.
The official site mentions real-time stats and an API with data export, but there is no public documentation to check how they work. Sub-accounts are not stated officially, and Stratum V2 support is not stated on the official site (checked 2026-10-11). If the pool recovers, look for an announcement in the official channel with confirmed server addresses.
What are the risks of using Neopool?
- Open incident. The operator advised users to move their full hashrate elsewhere, and no recovery has been announced as of 2026-10-11.
- Domain control. The company said attackers controlled neopool.com and its email.
- Frozen stats. The site shows a last block from 2024-09-01 and a difficulty figure that does not match the chain.
- Unverified size. Neopool has no tag on mempool.space, and unknown blocks are far too few to contain 20 EH/s.
- Undisclosed fee. The official site gives only personalized rates. The 1.5-1.8% figure is third-party.
- Thin documentation. The About, FAQ, documentation and connection pages return 404.
- Unverified claims. The 169 BTC record payout and the statement that funds are secure each rest on one source.
How does Neopool compare with Foundry USA, AntPool, F2Pool and Braiins Pool?
The official fee pages of these pools were not reachable on 2026-10-11, so the fees and minimums below come from third-party aggregators. Hashrate shares are one-week figures from mempool.space. Unlike Neopool, all four have blocks you can see on the chain.
| Pool | BTC fee | Scheme | Minimum payout | 1-week share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Neopool | Not disclosed, about 1.5-1.8% per third party | FPPS | 0.001 BTC | Not tracked |
| Foundry USA | Not published | FPPS | 0.01 BTC reported | 23.68% |
| AntPool | About 2.5%, range 0-4% cited | FPPS, PPLNS | 0.001 BTC reported | 17.18% |
| F2Pool | 4% per most sources | FPPS, PPLNS | 0.005 BTC | 14.89% |
| Braiins Pool | 2% FPPS, 0% PPLNS per multiple sources | FPPS, PPLNS | 0.001 BTC | 1.10% |
Over one month, mempool.space counted 1096 blocks for Foundry USA, 842 for AntPool, 709 for F2Pool and 86 for Braiins Pool. Braiins Pool also supports Stratum V2. Foundry USA does not publish its fee, so you would need to ask before comparing it on price.
What should you check, and what should you do instead?
Move your hashrate to a pool whose blocks you can see on mempool.space and whose fee is published. Before you switch, check the pool's block count for the last month, the fee and payout minimum on its own pages, and whether the last block shown on its site matches the chain.
A short checklist for any pool, including Neopool if it comes back:
- Find the pool in the mempool.space ranking and compare its block count with the hashrate it claims.
- Compare the "last block" on the pool's site with a block explorer. If it is months or years old, the stats are not live.
- Read the fee, scheme and minimum payout on the pool's own pages, not only on review sites.
- Check for open incidents or warnings on the pool's official channels.
- Start with one machine, wait for two or three payouts, then move the rest.
For alternatives we have reviewed in detail, read our reviews of EMCD pool, Binance Pool, Kryptex Pool and Promminer Pool. Then run your numbers in the mining calculator and change the pool fee field to see what each fee means for your machines.
